HEY NOW, YOU'RE AN ALL-STAR: On Tuesday, starting pitcher P.J. Conlon, and infielders Vinny Siena and David Thompson were named to the South Atlantic League Southern Division All-Star Team. The trio will be on display at Whitaker Bank Ballpark in Lexington, Kentucky, for the 57th annual South Atlantic League All-Star Game on June 21. They are highly ranked in many SAL categories:

Conlon - 7 wins (T-1st), 1.21 ERA (1st), 67.0 IP (3rd)

Siena - 43 R (2nd), .430 OBP (2nd), 40 BB (2nd)

Thompson - 42 RBI (T-1st), 23 XBH (T-4th), 17 2Bs (4th)

LET'S PLAY TWO: Due to Monday's rainout, Columbia and Augusta play two seven-inning games Tuesday night. This is the third doubleheader of the season for the Fireflies and they are 3-1 in twin bills.

ABOUT LAST GAME: The Fireflies and Suns battled in 12 innings, but Columbia fell in the series finale of the three-game set to Hagerstown, 2-1, on Saturday night. Conlon dealt 10.0 masterful innings.

HATS OFF TO CONLON: Columbia's ace was the first MiLB pitcher to register 10 innings in a game since September 4, 2005. Conlon carried a no-hitter into the seventh inning and helped his own cause with a highlight-reel defensive play in the sixth frame. His outstanding performance earned him South Atlantic League Pitcher of the Week for May 30-June 5. The left-hander leads the South Atlantic League in ERA (1.21) and is tied for first in wins (7). Conlon has also logged 67.0 IP, which is third best in the league.

HOW SWEEP IT IS: When Columbia and Augusta met at the end of May, the Fireflies notched their first ever series sweep at Spirit Communications Park. Columbia outscored the GreenJackets, 23-7, over the three-game set. In the middle game of the series, the Fireflies bats exploded for a season-high 14 runs and launched a single-game best four homeruns.
