First Place RiverDogs Back Home to Unite in a Special Way for Larry Doby Weekend

CHARLESTON, SC - Celebrating 20 years at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park, the first place Charleston RiverDogs return home for a seven-game homestand from June 9-15 and will pay tribute to the community of Charleston as they celebrate Larry Doby Weekend, light 1,000 candles to showcase the power of one light, and battle for the first half crown.

After returning from a brief three-game road trip in Rome, the RiverDogs will host the Asheville Tourists and the Augusta GreenJackets at The Joe, each for the second time this season. Charleston will play Asheville in a four-game series from June 9-12, and face the GreenJackets June 13-15 with a doubleheader on the 13th.

Thursday, June 9, 7:05pm: Thirsty Thursday: Join DJ Natty Heavy in the Ashley View Pub for Budweiser Thirsty Thursday presented by 95 SX that features $1 draft beers. The Budweiser Dune Buggy will be back out shooting t-shirts as the RiverDogs take on the Asheville Tourists.

Friday, June 10, 7:05pm: ISHPI Red Shirt Friday / Friday Night Fireworks: Want to blast the weekend off the right way? Come out to The Joe and enjoy another spectacular Home Telecom postgame fireworks show after the game. The RiverDogs will wear specialty red uniforms to honor our military as part of ISHPI Red Shirt Fridays presented by Mix 96. Fans that wear red to the game get $1 off their ticket purchase at the gate with the option to donate that dollar to the Wounded Warrior Corps.

Saturday, June 11, 6:05pm: Saturdays Live at The Joe Presents Night of 1,000 Candles: Fans can continue to join in "With the Crowd" in a summer series of postgame shows. Arrive early to get your player autographs on the concourse and stay late for another "Saturday Live at The Joe" presented by Star 99.7. Pregame, the RiverDogs will honor the Cannon Street All-Stars and tip their caps in reverence in a special salute the Negro Leagues presented by SC State University. During the game, current Charleston Southern outfielder Chris Singleton whose mother was a victim of the Mother Emmanuel AME shooting will be presented with the Humanitarian Award. The RiverDogs continue the Saturday post game promotion with a tribute to Larry Doby, the first African-American player in the American League, while advancing the conversation to enhance community togetherness. Fans are asked to stay as the RiverDogs present a Night of 1,000 Candles, showcasing the power of one light.

Sunday, June 12, 5:05pm: Holy City Sunday / Kids Club Sunday / Doby Weekend/ "Day of Unity": The RiverDogs embrace Charleston's "Holy City" moniker that has defined the community as a place of unity for centuries. The club will wear specialty uniforms that proudly display the "Holy City" namesake across their pinstriped tops with a new 'HC' emblem on the caps. The RiverDogs and the City of Charleston come together in a Day of Unity to embrace the city's show of strength and unity that transpired in the face of tragedy. There will also be a postgame concert featuring local musicians Tommy Gielingh and Evan Lampkin as they debut their "Unity Bridge" song. It's also a Kids Club Sunday where all Kid's Club members get in free. In association with Charleston County Parks & Recreation, South Carolina State University, and Y102.5, Sunday features free parking and Lowcountry youth eat free, enjoy pregame catch on the field as well as a rock climbing wall, and run the bases postgame presented by CPI Security.

Monday, June 13, 6:05pm: Blackbaud "Dogs With A Cause" benefiting the Berkeley Habitat for Humanity/ Dog Day presented by Z93 Jamz: We put the "Dog" in RiverDogs as part of a Dog Day doubleheader in conjunction with Camp Bow Wow and Z93 Jamz. Bring your pup to the park to cheer on the RiverDogs in their doubleheader against Augusta as you enjoy $1 beers and $1 hot dogs presented by Miller Lite. In between games, the all Lowcountry baseball and softball teams will be recognized. The RiverDogs and Blackbaud, the local software and services leader for the global philanthropic community, will share the spotlight with local nonprofit Berkeley Habitat for Humanity.

Tuesday, June 14, 7:05pm: "Take Me Out" Tuesday/ Firefighter Night: Take Me Out Tuesday returns to The Joe in which the RiverDogs celebrate Firefighter Night courtesy of ServiceMaster. All of the tri-county firemen will be honored and there will be on-field games between innings including a tug of war between fire houses, kids combat gear race, and a t-shirt toss from fire trucks driving the warning track. The "Take Me Out Tuesday" features a two-for-$20 meal and ticket deal at the gate. It's also Flag Day where the exchange club of Mount Pleasant will be giving out flags to the first 2,000 fans that walk through the gates.

Wednesday, June 15, 7:05pm: Service Industry Night / Seniors Eat Free/ Irish Night: Join the RiverDogs and the Greater Charleston Restaurant Association as they help recognize individuals in the local service industry. Service industry employees, who show proof with a pay stub, will receive 30 percent off of their game ticket and food. There will be numerous in-game contests that spotlight our service industry members including a Sous Chef competition. Help celebrate Irish Night as Irish dancers will be showcasing their moves on the field between innings along with hurlers who will impress with their throwing power. It'll also be Senior Wednesday as seniors who enter the stadium before 7pm will receive a free hot dog, chips and a drink.
