
Providence Bruins Defeat Portland Pirates, 3-2 in Overtime

PORTLAND, M.E. -The puck dropped at the Cross Arena at 7:00PM tonight for the Providence Bruins' first road game of the weekend.
The score remained 0-0 for the first half of the 1st period. At the 10:32 mark Alexander Khohklachev got on the board with the assists going to Caron and Pastrnak. About one minute later, at the 11:40 mark, Lessio found the back of the net for the Pirates to tie the score at one. The P-Bruins held the score at one through the end of the 1st despite the fact that Portland had 7 shots on goal compared to their 4.
The Providence Bruins and the Portland Pirates entered the second ready to break the tie. Portland struck first and netted a goal to make the score 2-1 thanks to Martinook. But, the P-Bruins continued to fight through the period and tied it up again when Matt Lindblad scored at the 17:37 mark with the assist going to Ben Youds.
After three periods in regulation, the Providence Bruins were unable to break the 2-2 tie and headed into overtime. At the end of a very exciting overtime period, Pastrnak broke the tie with 28.6 seconds left. The Providence Bruins defeated the Portland Pirates 3-2.
