
Canadiens Recall Sven Andrighetto, Joey Macdonald from Bulldogs

MONTREAL, QUE. - Montreal Canadiens and Hamilton Bulldogs general manager Marc Bergevin announced today the Canadiens have recalled forward Sven Andrighetto and goaltender Joey MacDonald from the Bulldogs.
Andrighetto has split this season between the Canadiens and Bulldogs. In four games with Montreal, he has recorded three points (two goals, one assist). In 21 games with Hamilton, the 21-year-old has recorded 18 points (nine goals, nine assists) and 16 penalty minutes. In 85 career American Hockey League regular season games with the Bulldogs, the Zurich, Switzerland native has recorded 62 points (26 goals, 36 assists) and 56 penalty minutes. The 5-9, 186-pound forward was selected by the Canadiens in the third round (86th overall) in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft.
In 13 games with Hamilton this season, MacDonald has a record of 6-4-3 with a 2.80 goals-against average and .906 save percentage. In 133 career NHL regular season games with the Calgary Flames, Detroit Red Wings, Toronto Maple Leafs, New York Islanders and Boston Bruins, the Pictou, N.S. native has a record of 44-61-15 with a 3.00 goals-against average, .902 save percentage and two shutouts. In 313 career AHL regular season games with the Bulldogs, Abbotsford Heat, Grand Rapids Griffins, Toronto Marlies, Bridgeport Sound Tigers and Cincinnati Mighty Ducks, the 6-0, 197-pound goaltender has a record of 150-129-19 with a 2.63 goals-against average, .913 save percentage and 24 shutouts. The Canadiens signed MacDonald as a free agent on July 1, 2014.
The Bulldogs will be back in action tonight when they'll host the St. John's IceCaps at FirstOntario Centre at 7:30 p.m.
