Kings Recall Jeff Schultz from Manchester

LOS ANGELES - The Los Angeles Kings have recalled defenseman Jeff Schultz from the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League and placed defenseman Robyn Regehr on injured reserve, Kings President/General Manager Dean Lombardi announced today.

The 6-6, 222-pound native of Calgary, Alberta, has appeared in 399 career NHL games, all with the Washington Capitals. He has posted 75 points (11-6475) with a plus-78 rating and 133 penalty minutes. He appeared in seven postseason games last year with the Kings, going scoreless.

Selected in the first-round (27th overall) of the 2004 NHL Entry Draft by the Washington Capitals, Schultz has appeared in 26 games this season with Manchester (AHL), collecting nine points (3-69), a plus-7 rating and 20 penalty minutes. He has appeared in 138 career AHL games between Manchester and Hershey, he has recorded collecting 34 points (7-2734), a plus-38 rating and 91 penalty minutes.

To make room for Schultz on the roster, defenseman Robyn Regehr has been placed on injured reserve with an upper-body injury.
