FORT WAYNE, Ind. - TinCaps INF Connor Powers was named the Midwest League Player of the Week on Monday. He reached base in over half his plate appearances and slugged a pair of home runs during the past week.

Powers, 23, posted a .538 on-base percentage, swatted three doubles and drove in nine runs over the course of the week. On August 5 at Bowling Green, he hammered a pair of home runs in a 7-2 win. Powers also strung together a streak of five consecutive multi-hit games.

The Naperville, Ill. product was selected by the Padres in the 21st round of last year's draft out of

The TinCaps continue their seven-game homestand tonight against the Bowling Green Hot Rods (Class-A Tampa Bay Rays). First pitch is slated for 7:05 p.m.
