Golden Eagle Becomes Silver Hawk

South Bend Silver Hawks News Release


South Bend, IN - In conjunction with the Arizona Diamondbacks, the South Bend Silver Hawks have announced that OF Marc Bourgeois has joined the team from short season A Yakima.

Bourgeois played collegiately at Southern Miss (nicknamed the Golden Eagles) and signed a free agent contract with the Arizona Diamondbacks on June 9, 2011. In 30 games with the Yakima Bears, he hit .268 with eight doubles, five triples, and 11 RBIs.

From Granby, Quebec, Canada originally, Bourgeois joins David Narodowski as Canadian born players on the Silver Hawks roster this season.

The South Bend roster currently stands at 25 active players, plus two on the disabled list.
