Silver Hawks' Players Named as 2014 Midwest League Post Season All-Stars

South Bend, Indiana (August 26, 2014)- George H. Spelius, President of the Midwest League of Professional Baseball Clubs, has announced the Midwest League's 2014 Post Season All-Star Roster. The team was selected by the Field Managers of the sixteen Midwest League member clubs and three Silver Hawks' players have been selected. The three players selected are Shortstop Andrew Velazquez, Pitcher Silvino Bracho and Pitcher Will Locante. Velazquez has also been named the Midwest League Prospect of the Year.
Andrew Velazquez leads the league in stolen bases, triples, total bases and now holds the Minor League Baseball consecutive on- base record. He is also 8th in batting with an average of .291 and 5th in OPS .370. Slavino Bracho is 1st in saves and Will Locante 3rd in holds. Velazquez and Locante were also mid-season All-Stars.
The 2014 team has secured a spot in the 2014 Playoffs and will play at Four Winds Field September 4th at 7:05 p.m. To purchase tickets for the 2014 Midwest League Playoff game visit www.SilverHawks.com, or call the Box Office at 574-235-9988. The South Bend Silver Hawks are a Class A minor league team affiliated with the Arizona Diamondbacks. The team is owned and operated by Swing-Batter-Swing, LLC whose sole shareholder is Andrew T. Berlin of Chicago, IL.
