
3B Mitch Nay Named MWL Postseason All-Star

LANSING, Mich. - The Lansing Lugnuts' Mitch Nay has been named as the starting third baseman on the Midwest League Postseason All-Star Team, the league announced today.
Nay, 20, played in a team-high 120 games in his first season in the MWL, batting .285 while leading the Lugnuts with 135 hits, 57 runs scored, 34 doubles and 59 RBIs. He also represented the Lugs in the Midseason All-Star Game on June 17th in West Michigan, playing the entire game at third for the Eastern Division.
On August 20th, Nay was promoted to A-Advanced Dunedin.
The Chandler, Arizona, native was drafted 58th overall by the Toronto Blue Jays in 2012. Last season, he was honored as the Northwest League's Postseason Most Valuable Player.
The Lugs have five home games remaining in the 2014 regular season, playing a 7:05 p.m. contest today against Lake County, before concluding the series tomorrow night with an Eat-A-Palooza! presented by Gordon Food Service -- $20 tickets and all-you-can-eat inside the ballpark!
