About Last Game : Cody Hebner struck out a career-high 11 batters in five innings as he led the TinCaps to a 6-3 win over the Bowling Green Hot Rods at Parkview Field on Sunday evening in front of 6,904 fans.
A TinCaps Win Would : Gain ground in the Eastern Division Wild Card race... Be their second in a row and third straight at home.
Scoreboard Watching : With 8 games remaining in the regular season, Fort Wayne trails Dayton by 2.0 games for the wild card. The TinCaps are also 1.5 back of Great Lakes and a half-game behind Bowling Green. The Dragons host the Loons tonight at 7:00 p.m.
KKKKKKKKyle Lloyd : Kyle Lloyd has 67 strikeouts since July 12. That's the 2nd most in all of Minor League Baseball. (He trails only Jose De Leon of Great Lakes who has 69 in that time.) Over his last 8 starts, Lloyd has struck out an average of 8.4 batters per game. On the season, Lloyd has 141 strikeouts, which in the Midwest League trails only West Michigan's Kevin Ziomek, who has 145 in 110.2 IP. Keep in mind that Lloyd debut with the TinCaps until April 16, and that was out of the bullpen. Lloyd's first start wasn't until May 6. Nevertheless, his SO / 9 IP of 11.5 is the best in the MWL.
Not Just About the Ks : Kyle Lloyd hasn't just been striking out batters at a rapid rate, he's also keeping opponents off the scoreboard. In his last start against Great Lakes last Wednesday, Lloyd threw 6 scoreless innings in which he allowed only 1 hit (a bunt single in the 1st) and 1 walk. Lloyd has posted a 1.40 ERA in 8 starts since July 12.
Bullpen Props : Fort Wayne's bullpen ERA is down to 3.94 - as low as it has been since the opening series of the season.
Packed Parkview Field : The TinCaps have hosted 24 sell-out crowds this season with 5 home dates remaining. The only Fort Wayne season with more sellouts was 2010 (26). Parkview Field has averaged 5,865 fans per game. The team's total attendance of 381,255 is its most ever through 64 openings.
BIG FUN : Tonight is a US Foods Family Feast Night... Tomorrow is "Race the Game" Night... Wednesday is Matt Wisler Bobblehead Night... Thursday is FW Fire Department Night... Friday is Fan Appreciation Night.
