Cedar Rapids, IA - The Cedar Rapids Kernels and Minnesota Twins announce that LHP Josue Montanez has been activated from the 7-day DL. Brad Steil, Director of Minor League Operations for the Twins, announced the move.

Montanez went on the DL back on August 16th with a rotator cuff strain. In 21 games for the Kernels (six starts) he has a 1-4 record and 7.22 ERA. In 52.1 IP, he has allowed 61 hits and 49 runs (42 earned) with 26 walks and 52 strikeouts.

With today's transaction, the Kernels roster is at the Midwest League maximum of 25 active players, with four players currently on the DL.

The Kernels continue a six game road trip tonight at 7:00 pm in Quad Cities. They return to Perfect Game Field at Veterans Memorial Stadium on Wednesday, August 27th and open a three game home stand against the Kane County Cougars.
