
Peters Retires, Joins Bullies Coaching Staff

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. â The Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies of the ECHL, a proud affiliate of the New York Islanders, have announced that defenseman Dan Peters has announced his retirement and agreed to join the Bullies Hockey Operations staff as an assistant coach. Peters will be responsible for advance scouting and a variety of other coaching duties
"We are happy that Dan has decided to remain apart of the Bullies family for the upcoming playoff run ," said Vice President and General Manager Dan Belisle. "We appreciate his contributions to our team on the ice this year and expect him to be a valuable asset to our coaching staff."
Peters, 27, concludes a five-year professional career finishing with 15 goals and 58 points in 238 games. The Mendota Heights, MN native signed with Atlantic City prior to the 2004-05 season and tallied four goals and 13 points in 38 games with the Bullies before being placed on the 30-day injured reserve on February 24.
An All-WCHA Second Team selection at Colorado College, Peters signed a professional contract with the Philadelphia Flyers in 2000 and played three seasons with the Flyers American Hockey League affiliate, the Philadelphia Phantoms, where he recorded nine goals and 39 points over 180 games. Peters spent the 2003-04 season playing abroad in Germany and captured a championship as a member of the Frankfurt Lions of the elite Deutsche Eishockey League.

Atlantic City returns to Historic Boardwalk Hall at 7:05PM Friday for the final regular season home game in Bullies history as they welcome the Reading Royals for "Fan Appreciation Night".
