Titans' Bertoli Named CCM TACKS ECHL Player Of The Month

PRINCETON, N.J. - Trenton left wing Scott Bertoli is the CCM TACKS ECHL Player of the Month for March.

Bertoli scored 23 points (8g-15a) as the Titans went 8-3-2 in March.

Now in his sixth professional season, all with Trenton, Bertoli had seven multiple-point games in March, including three consecutive three-point games against Dayton on March 12 (3a), at Charlotte on March 15 (3a), and at Toledo on March 18 (3g). Bertoli also had a season-high five points against Greenville on March 4 (2g-3a), and two-point games on March 12 against Wheeling (2a), March 19 at Toledo (2a) and against Reading on March 26 (2g). Bertoli was named ECHL Player of the Week for March 14-20 after he had five assists and eight points to help the Titans win three out of four road games. Bertoli, who had a seven-game scoring streak from March 8-19 (4g-11a), leads the Titans with 66 points, including a career-best 26 goals, in 67 games.

A member of the Titans since the team's inaugural season in 1999-2000, the 28-year-old Bertoli has 378 points (130g-248a) and 416 penalty minutes in 376 career regular season games and 37 points (8g-29a) in 40 career Kelly Cup Playoff games. He was named as a starting forward for the 2001 ECHL All-Star Game.

The Milton, Ontario native has played in the American Hockey League with Lowell for two games in 1999-2000 and with St. John for one game in 2001-02. Bertoli played four seasons at Princeton University, scoring 118 points (41g-77a) and accumulating 253 penalty minutes in 130 games. He helped the Tigers win their first-ever Eastern College Athletic Conference championship and a berth in the NCAA Tournament in 1997-98.
