Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies News Release
ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. - The Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies of the ECHL, a proud affiliate of the New York Islanders, have announced the signing of rookie center Geoff Platt to a contract for the remainder of the season. Platt is expected to be in the line-up when the Bullies host Reading at 7:05PM on Friday.
Platt, 19, led the Erie Otters and finished second in the prestigious Ontario Hockey League with 45 goals in 2004-05. His 79 total points placed him 12th overall in the OHL scoring race. One of the league's most prolific scorers, Platt averaged more than a point per game during the regular season this year and was selected to the Western Conference roster for the 2005 OHL All-Star Classic where he tallied a goal and two assists.
Platt completed his junior career this past weekend as Erie was eliminated from the 2005 OHL Playoffs by the Kitchener Rangers. The Mississauga, ON native notched 106 goals and 86 assists in 248 career games in the OHL.
