Scott Bertoli Named CCM TACKS ECHL Player of the Month

TRENTON, NJ (April 6, 2005) – The ECHL announced on Thursday that Trenton Titans left wing Scott Bertoli has been named CCM TACKS ECHL Player of the Month. This honor caps off a month in which Bertoli was also named ECHL Player of the Week for March 14-20, notching five assists and eight points as the Titans won three out of four road games. Bertoli becomes the first player in the six-year history of the Trenton Titans organization to capture the Player of the Month Award.

The 28-year old registered twenty-three points (8g, 15a), including a seven-game scoring streak (4g, 11a) from March 8-19, in helping the Titans go 8-3-2 in March.

Bertoli recorded seven multi-point games during the month including a season-high, five points (2g, 3a) against the Greenville Grrrowl on March 4. Bertoli also had three consecutive, three-point games against Dayton on March 12 (3a), Charlotte on March 15 and Toledo on March 18 (3g).

Bertoli is tied for eighth in the ECHL with 66 points and leads the Titans in goals (26), assists (40) and points. Having spent all six-years of his professional career with Trenton, Bertoli is the Titans' all-time leader for games played (416), goals (138), assists (277) and points (415). He was named a starting forward for the 2001 ECHL All-Star Game and helped lead the Titans to the Brabham Cup and Kelly Cup Finals that year as well.

A native of Milton, Ontario, Bertoli was a four-year letterman at Princeton University. He recorded 118 points (41g-77a) in 130 games and led the Tigers to their first ever Eastern College Athletic Conference Championship and NCAA tournament appearance in 1997-98.
