Fresno, Calif. - The Fresno Falcons and their fans raised more than $18,000 during two separate charity events for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and the Aaron Tomas Cerna Reward/Medical Fund.

Following this past Sunday's game against the Long Beach Ice Dogs at Save Mart Center, the Falcons auctioned off their third jerseys to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. The gold sweaters garnered a total of $16,425, with the jerseys of three players fetching bids of at least $1,000. John Wroblewski's #23 took in $2,800 followed by Mike Kiesman's #17 ($1,600) and Shaun Sutter's #24 ($1,000).

Last night the Falcons held their Tip-A-Falcon event at Cattle Rustlers Restaurant to raise money for Aaron Cerna, a former Junior Falcon who is paralyzed from the chest down after a drive-by shooting. Fans generously donated $1,900 worth of tips during the three-hour event.

The Falcons finish the regular season still alive in the West Division playoff hunt as they battle the Long Beach Ice Dogs at Save Mart Center this Friday and Saturday, Apr. 8 and 9, at 7 p.m. both nights.

Tickets are on sale for both games for as low as $8 per seat and may be purchased directly at the Save Mart Center box office and all Ticketmaster outlets, by phone at 485-TIXS (8497) or online at www.ticketmaster.com.
