Berkhoel Recalled to AHL

The Gwinnett Gladiators announced today that goaltender Adam Berkhoel has been recalled to the American Hockey League by the Gladiators AHL affiliate Chicago Wolves.

Making his third trip to the AHL, Berkhoel appeared in one game with Chicago during his last trip to the AHL posting 28 saves in a 4-3 loss at Cincinnati on November 19th.

The St. Paul, Minnesota, native led the University of Denver to the 2004 NCAA Championship and was named the NCAA Championship Tournament MVP. Berkhoel recorded a 24-11-4 mark with a 2.45 goals-against average in 39 games for the Pioneers during his final collegiate season.

Under contract to the Atlanta Thrashers, Berkhoel has appeared in 23 games this season with the Gladiators recording 2 shutouts and a 2.45 goals against averages. He shares first among Gladiators netminders with a .913 save percentage while going 8-10-5 this season with Gwinnett.

The Chicago Wolves hosts the Cincinnati Might Ducks tonight at 8:05 p.m.
