November 15, 2010 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Hershey Bears News Release
The HERSHEY BEARS Hockey Club defeated Syracuse 3-0 on Saturday and Binghamton 8-3 on Sunday to move into second place in the AHL's East Division Standings. Mathieu Perreault was named the game's number one star Sunday, as he assisted on six goals. Andrew Gordon, Kyle Greentree and Brian Willsie all scored two goals apiece.
After a trip to Binghamton this Friday, HERSHEY will host Wilkes-Barre/Scranton and Hartford this weekend. Tickets are available at the Giant Center box office, or by calling (717) 534-3911.
An assist night to remember: Forward Mathieu Perreault recorded six assists Sunday in an 8-3 win over Binghamton. Perreault became the first AHL player since 2005 to earn six assists in a single contest. His sixth and final playmaker came on Lawrence Nycholat's third period tally.
MVP still on the sidelines: Center Keith Aucoin has missed four straight games with a lower body injury suffered last Sunday in Charlotte. The reigning AHL most valuable is still listed as day-to-day as the new week begins.
Roster moves: Goaltender Semyon Varlamov was assigned to HERSHEY on Wednesday. The former BEARS goaltender has been injured much of this season for Washington. Center Marcus Johansson, who played in two games for HERSHEY in Charlotte, was recalled to the Capitals Wednesday. The Chocolate and White recalled right wing Dmitri Kugryshev on Wednesday from South Carolina. The club also has signed defenseman Phil Oreskovic to a player tryout contract on Thursday.
Practice schedule: HERSHEY will skate Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at Giant Center, in preparations for Friday's game in Binghamton against the Senators.
Senatorial Beatdown: Heading into Friday's game in Binghamton, HERSHEY has outscored the Senators 15-4 in two games played in 2010-11. The BEARS have also won 19 of the last 21 games between the two teams played at Giant Center.
Upcoming promotions: Capital BlueCross Lunch Cooler night is Saturday, November 20 when the BEARS take on the Wilkes- Barre/Scranton Penguins at 7:00 p.m. The first 5,000 fans will receive a free lunch cooler, courtesy of Capital BlueCross.
