
Leading Scorer Pouliot Reassigned to Norfolk by Tampa Bay

TAMPA BAY, Fla. - The Tampa Bay Lightning, NHL parent club of the Norfolk Admirals, have reassigned forward Marc-Antoine Pouliot (*MAHRK an-TWAHN POO-l'yaht*) to the Admirals, Lightning Vice President and General Manager Steve Yzerman announced today.
Pouliot, a 6-foot-2, 193-pound center from Qué(c)bec City, Qué(c)bec, was recalled to Tampa Bay on November 12 and made his Lightning debut that night in Pittsburgh. In playing his first NHL game of the season, he logged 11:57 of ice time. He was signed by Tampa Bay as a free agent on July 23, 2010.
Pouliot, 25, had appeared in Norfolk's first 12 games of the season prior to his recall, recording four goals and 18 points. He remains the team's leader in scoring and is tied for ninth among all American Hockey League players in scoring while ranking third in the AHL with 14 assists.
Pouliot, appeared in 35 games last season with the Edmonton Oilers, scoring seven goals and 14 points. Pouliot also skated in four games with Edmonton's American Hockey League affiliate, the Springfield Falcons, scoring one goal and six points.
A sixth-year pro, Pouliot has appeared in 177 career NHL games between the Lightning and Oilers, scoring 21 goals and 53 points. In 169 career AHL games between the Admirals, Falcons, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins and Hamilton Bulldogs, Pouliot has scored 55 goals and 147 points. Pouliot was drafted by the Oilers in the first round (22nd overall) of the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.
The Admirals will conclude their five-game road trip on Friday night in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, with a 7:05 p.m. puck drop against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.
