Oklahoma City Barons News Release


No Player of the Week nominee this time.

Individual notes:

- Shawn Belle continues to lead AHL defensemen in points (15) and assists (13) at the start of this week's play. Belle notched his second goal of the season in Friday's 6-2 win over Chicago.

- Liam Reddox's 2 goals on Friday moved him into second on the team in goals behind Linus Omark's 10. It was Reddox's first multiple-goal game of the season and included his second shorthanded marker. Reddox and Omark were held off the score sheet in the season's first 3 games, but in 14 contests since Omark has a team-high 19 points and Reddox has accumulated 16.

- Goaltender Martin Gerber has won 7 straight starts and enters the week second in the AHL in wins (9), minutes (798) and saves (350). The last time Gerber took a loss was Oct. 22, a 4-1 home defeat against San Antonio.

- The Barons are 5 games into a season-high 8-game homestand. OKC is 3-2-0-0 during the homestand. Their next road game is the day after Thanksgiving at Lake Erie. For the season, the Barons are 5-5-1-0 at home and by the end of the current homestand will have played 14 of their first 20 games at the Cox Convention Center.

San Antonio broke a 3-3 tie after 2 periods to score all 3 third-period goals in winning for the second time in as many tries on Cox Convention Center ice. Al Montoya earned his second win against the Barons in stopping 32 of 35 OKC shots. Barons goalie Jeff Deslauriers took his second loss.

Barons 6, Wolves 2

Cox Convention Center

The Barons scored the first 3 and last 3 goals of the game in improving to 2-1-0-0 against Chicago. Liam Reddox scored twice, once shorthanded, as OKC built a 3-0 lead before the Wolves Spencer Mach- acek scored a pairfo second-period goals. Martin Gerber won his seventh straight start with 35 saves.
