Dennis Brown and Matt Konan assisted on the power-play goal. Tulsa continues an aggressive stance through the remainder of the period, matching with the Mavericks to hold the game at a stalemate.

It was not until the final five minutes of the game that Mavericks league-leading goal-scorer, Jesse Root, took advantage of a mishandled puck by net-minder Kevin Carr and found the back of the net to edge Missouri into a 2-1 lead over the Tulsa Oilers. Root scored his thirteenth goal of the season with a lone assist from rookie John Schiavo.
