Salt Lake City, Utah - The Utah Grizzlies (11-5-2-0) defeated the Allen Americans (12-8-0-0) 4-2 on Saturday night, to complete the weekend sweep in front of 3,966 at the Maverik Center.

Gary Steffes (5) and Casey Pierro-Zabotel (8) were the goal scorers for Allen. Chad Costello picked up an assist on the Zabotel goal for his 500th career point. Justin Courtnall with an assist on the Steffes goal extended his point streak to a team leading three games.

"We were better tonight, but still not good enough," said Americans Co Captain Chad Costello. It is disappointing to make that long drive here and not pick up any points."

Joel Rumpel made the start for Allen and made some big saves, especially in the third period to keep Allen close. Rumpel stopped 35 of 38 Utah shots in the loss.

The Americans didn't score a power play goal tonight which snaps a streak of six straight games with at least one power play goal scored. The Americans had multiple power play goals in their last two games prior to tonight. Also with tonight's loss, for the first time this season the Americans have lost back to back games.
