Greenville Swamp Rabbits News Release
Glens Falls, NY - The Greenville Swamp Rabbits (9-10-1), proud ECHL affiliate of the New York Rangers and the AHL's Hartford Wolf Pack, fired 32 shots on goaltender Drew Fielding on Sunday, but the rookie netminder in his professional debut stopped every one of them in a 2-0 loss to the Adirondack Thunder (12-2-1) at the Glens Falls Civic Center. The setback snapped Greenville's season-best three-game winning streak on the road.
Adirondack broke the scoreless deadlock just 6:55 into the opening frame when Jeff Silengo netted his second goal in as many games. Dana Fraser created the attack when he chipped the puck deep into Greenville's zone and gave chase behind the net. There, Fraser regained possession and slipped a centering feed to Silengo at the doorstep, where he pushed home a one-timer past P.J. Musico's blocker to make it 1-0.
The only other tally came late in the third period when Mathieu Brodeur floated the puck through the neutral zone and into an empty net at the 19:13 mark.
Greenville finished the game 0-for-3 on the power play and 3-for-3 on the penalty kill. Musico (4-2-0) made 19 saves on 20 shots in the loss.
The Swamp Rabbits outshot Adirondack 32-21.
