
Penguins close out 2005 with three games at home

The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins say goodbye to 2005 by playing host to the Hershey Bears, Hartford Wolf Pack and Norfolk Admirals this week. Monday and Wednesday night's games against Hershey and Hartford start at 7:05pm, while the New Year's Eve contest with the Admirals sees the puck drop at 6:05pm.

Monday, December 26 - Hershey Bears @ PENGUINS
NOTES:
The Penguins are 4-0-0-1 against Hershey this season, including a 3-0 victory in the most recent game, December 18 in Hershey Wilkes-Barre's only loss came in a shootout, 3-2, on December 4. Hershey is in second place in the East Division with a 20-6-2-4 record for 46 points, five behind the Penguins. The Penguins have two games in hand on the Bears.
Wednesday, December 28 - Hartford Wolf Pack @ PENGUINS
NOTES:
The Penguins won the first meeting with Hartford this season, 5-4, on November 13 in Connecticut. Hartford is in third place in the Atlantic Division with a 17-6-2-5 record. The first 1,500 fans ages 14 and under will receive a free Tux bank, courtesy of McCabe Mortgage Group.
Saturday, December 31 - Norfolk Admirals @ PENGUINS
NOTES:
The Penguins have won all six meetings with the Admirals this season, including a 2-1 shootout win on December 17 in Wilkes-Barre. Saturday's game is the first of four Penguins Game Issued Jersey Card giveaways. The first 5,000 fans entering Wachovia Arena will receive one random card featuring a Penguins player and a one-inch swatch of his jersey from opening night. Game time is 6:05pm.
INDIVIDUAL LEAGUE LEADERS (all stats as of 12/26)
Dany Sabourin is tied for fifth with 11 wins, is second with a .932 save percentage second with a 2.02 goals against average. Alain Nasreddine is tied for first overall with a plus-16 rating. Noah Welch and Ryan Lannon are tied for third overall with plus-15 ratings. Dennis Bonvie is first overall with 174 penalty minutes
TEAM LEAGUE LEADERS (all stats as of 12/26)
- Power-Play - the Penguins rank ninth overall with a 18.6 success rate (39 goals/210 chances).
- Penalty Killing - the Penguins are first overall at 89.8% (21 goals against/205 times shorthanded).
MISCELLANEOUS NOTES (all stats as of 12/26)
Joey Mullen was officially named head coach on December 19, and has guided the club to a 3-2-0-0 record in his first five games at the helm. In that time, the Penguins have allowed just five goals for a 0.98 team goals against average. Al Sims was named assistant coach on December 23. He previously has served as head coach with Fort Wayne (IHL), Milwaukee (IHL), San Jose (NHL), Trenton (ECHL), Corpus Christi (CHL) and Fort Worth (CHL). Dany Sabourin recorded his third career shutout as a Penguin on December 23 against Philadelphia, moving him into a tie for fourth place on the team's all-time list with Jean-Sebastien Aubin. The Penguins have 14 road wins in their first 16 road games this season (14-1-0-1), and are just two road wins shy of tying the team's single season record. The Penguins are averaging 8,121 fans per game this season (113,701 in 14 games), 99.7% of capacity.
