
Kings Recall Grebeshkov

MANCHESTER, NH - The Los Angeles Kings, the primary affiliate of the Manchester Monarchs, have recalled defenseman Denis Grebeshkov from the Monarchs, Kings President of Hockey Operations/General Manager Dave Taylor announced today. In addition, the Monarchs recalled defenseman Eric Werner from the ECHL's Reading Royals, Monarchs Director of Hockey Operations Hubie McDonough announced today.
Grebeshkov, 22, leads all Monarchs defensemen with 16 points (0-16=16) this season. The 6-foot-1, 195-pound native of Yaroslavl, Russia, also has 41 penalty minutes and a plus-4 rating in 28 games with the Monarchs. Grebeshkov, who wears jersey No. 37, has one assist in four career NHL games - all with the Kings.
Originally selected by the Kings in the first-round (18th overall) in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft, Grebeshkov was on the Kings' 23-man player roster at the start of the 2005-06 season but did not appear in a game before being assigned to Manchester on October 9.
Werner, 22, has appeared in 23 games with the Royals this season, collecting 12 points (4-8=12) and 12 penalty minutes. The 5-foot-10, 185-pound native of Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan, started the 2005-06 season with the Monarchs, recording zero points in one game before being assigned to Reading on October 11.
The Monarchs face-off with the Atlantic Division leading Portland Pirates at 7:05 p.m. at the Verizon Wireless Arena on Wednesday, December 28.
