Owens recalled from Charlotte

HARTFORD, January 25, 2008: Hartford Wolf Pack general manager Jim Schoenfeld announced today that the Wolf Pack have recalled forward Jordan Owens from loan to their ECHL affiliate, the Charlotte Checkers.

Owens had been assigned to the Checkers on Monday, to participate in the 2008 ECHL All-Star Game and Skills Competition in Stockton, CA. Owens tallied a goal and had five shots for the American Conference, which lost, 10-7, to the National Conference in the All-Star Game Wednesday night. In Tuesday night's Skills Competition, won by the American Conference 26-25, Owens registered the second-fastest time in the Fastest-Skater event, clocking in at 14.44 seconds, and also competed in the Breakaway Relay, in which he was stopped on his only attempt by Victoria's Julien Ellis.

Owens has registered a goal and three assists, along with 16 penalty minutes and a +3, in 14 games with the Wolf Pack. In 20 ECHL games with the Checkers, the rookie out of the Ontario Hockey League has posted totals of 3-10-13, with 28 PIM.

The Wolf Pack head into the AHL's All-Star break with a pair of home games this weekend. They host the Worcester Sharks at the XL Center tonight at 7:00, on Guida's Family Value Night. Then tomorrow night it's Al Montoya Bobblehead Night at the XL Center, as the Pack battle the league-leading Providence Bruins in a 7:00 game.
