HAMILTON, ON - The Hamilton Bulldogs were shutout 4-0 by the Quad City Flames in the first-ever meeting between the two Clubs on Friday night at Copps Coliseum. The loss drops the ‘Dogs record to 19-18-1-5 on the season.

Krys Kolanos staked the Flames to a 1-0 lead at 7:01 of the first period when he snapped a shot over the glove hand of Bulldogs goaltender Carey Price. Carsen Germyn and Matt Pelech assisted on the game's opening goal.

Quad City added to their lead at 12:39 of the middle stanza when Grant Stevenson set up Carsen Germyn to make the score 2-0. Tim Hambly also assisted on Germyn's sixth tally of the season.

With only 13 seconds left in the second frame, Derek Couture notched his fifth marker of the season to give the Flames a 3-0 lead. David Van der Gulik drew the lone assist on the goal.

While on the power play at the 13:37 mark of the third period, Kolanos buried his second tally of the game to make the score 4-0. Stevenson and Tim Ramholt picked up the helpers on Kolanos' 18th goal of the season.

Between the pipes, Price made 29 saves on 33 shots for Hamilton in the loss, while Curtis McElhinney was perfect stopping all 26 shots he faced to record a shutout for Quad City.

The Bulldogs were 0-for-4 with the man advantage, while the Flames went 1-for-5 on the power play.
