West Valley City Utah - The Ontario Reign defeated the Utah Grizzlies 3-2 Friday night at Maverik Center in a game that saw all of the scoring take place in the third period.

Utah goaltender Ryan Faragher went 25/25 through 40 minutes as the Grizzlies held the game scoreless. Faragher stopped 32 of 34 in the game.

The Reign scored shorthanded 2:27 into the third period and then again at 5:08 of the frame to take a 1-0 lead.

Utah made it 2-1 8:25 into the period as Barry Almeida jammed in a power-play goal with Vinny Scarsella and Mike Colavecchia both picking up assists.

The game stayed 2-1 until the final two minutes when Ontario scored an empty-net goal.

The Grizzlies made it 3-2 with just under seven seconds left as Colavecchia scored from the right circle assisted by Scarsella and Connor Hardowa.

The Grizzlies and Ontario meet against Saturday at 7 p.m. It is Angel's Hands Night and the Grizzlies will wear specialty jerseys that will be auctioned off for the Angel's Hands Foundation after the game.

The Grizzlies first Maverik Monday game of the year is Monday, November 17 against Ontario at 7 p.m. Fans presenting their Maverik Adventure Club Card will get tickets buy one get one free.
