Reading Royals News Release

ROYALS PRE-GAME NOTES

- The Royals are riding a three game losing streak. Last season, the team lost as many as three games in a row only twice-once in the regular season (December 7 - 15, 2013) and once in playoffs (Games Three, Four and Five of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals against the Kalamazoo Wings).

- The last time the team lost four games in regulation in a row was February 26 through March 3, 2011. (The Royals actually lost four in a row in regulation twice during the 2010-11 season-the other coming in Games 2 through 5 in the early stages of the season: October 17 - October 28, 2010).

- All three losses for the Royals in this current three game skid have been one goal decisions. Reading is 1- 3-0-0 in one-goal games this year.

- The K-Wings play in the North Division. Reading has compiled a record of 1-4-0-0 against teams from the North with thirty-three more games still to be played against teams from that division-including all three this week (Saturday @ Kalamazoo and Sunday @ Toledo).

- Historically, this is the twenty-second time in team history that the Royals have faced the Kalamazoo Wings, who are in their sixth season in the ECHL. Reading has compiled a record of 10-9-2 against the K-Wings in the regular season.

- Reading has faced Kalamazoo twice in playoffs: (i) 2010 American Conference Quarterfinals (Won by Reading, 3 games to 2); and (ii) 2011 Eastern Conference Semifinals (Won by Kalamazoo 4 games to 0).

- The Royals held at least one lead in both games played last weekend against the Fort Wayne Komets- and actually held nine separate leads (three of them by two goals) in last Saturday's 7-6 loss to the Fort Wayne Komets. Reading has blown leads in three of the first eight games played this season.

- Last Saturday's 7-6 loss is only the third time in team history that Reading has scored as many as six goals and lost in regulation. The last time in occurred was a 10-6 loss to the Wheeling Nailers on December 26, 2008.

- The Royals' six goals last Saturday came on just a season-low twenty-one shots.

- In the 7-6 loss to Fort Wayne, Reading's power play went three for four. The Royals PP is nine for forty- four, which translates into a 20.5% scoring ratio (tenth best in the league).

- Kalamazoo's penalty kill has only allowed one power play goal against on home ice so far this season, killing eleven of the twelve power plays they've faced at Wings Stadium.

- The Royals gave up a season-high three power play goals against on eight chances with the man advantage for Fort Wayne last Saturday. Reading's penalty killers have held the opposition's power play off the board only twice in the eight played so far. Overall, Reading is killing penalties at a 73.5% clip (last in the league).

- Adam Hughesman is riding a seven game point streak (4g-8a=12pts). He has recorded a team high four multi-point performances so far, including a three point game last Saturday (1g-2a).

- Cam Reid is riding a seven game point streak (3g-6a=9pts).

- Olivier Labelle has recorded at least one point in four consecutive games (1g-4a) and is also riding a three game assist streak. Labelle has had at least one point in six of the eight games he has played so far.

- Ryan Cruthers racked up a team season-high four points in last Saturday's loss (1g-3a). Two of assists led to power play goals. He leads the team with four power play assists.

- Pat Mullane scored his first power play goal as a Royal last Saturday. Mullane's four goals places him tied for the team lead in that category with Adam Hughesman.
