TONIGHT:
The Ontario Reign (6-3-0-2) visit the Utah Grizzlies (3-4-1-2) as they begin the first leg of a season-high nine-game road trip. The Reign will play three games at Maverik Center during the trip.
KING'S RANSOM:
Center Tristan King has continued to produce at a high level, as he carries an active point streak of six games into tonight's matchup with two goals and five assists, while also maintaining a plus-minus of +9 over that span. In addition, King also has an active road point streak of five games heading into tonight's game, with one goal and four assists.
WHITE-HOT:
After returning from Europe, Matt White has started to find the form that helped him lead the Reign in points during his 2013-14 rookie season. He put up two goals and two assists on Tuesday night, along with Derek Couture, tying the pair for the league-wide individual game high with four points.
30 IS THE NEW 20:
Despite turning 30 this past spring, Reign captain Derek Couture shows no signs of slowing down; his four-point night on Tuesday pushed him into a first-place tie for the league lead in points with 14 (7g-7a) in 11 games. The other ECHL players who are tied with Couture for the scoring title are Brayden Irwin (age 27), Jonathan Parker (23) and Riley Brace (22).
STRENGTH IN NET:
After yielding only one goal on Wednesday, Jussi Olkinuora helped reduce Ontario's team goals-against average to 2.18, which is tops in the entire ECHL. Individually, both Olkinuora and Joe Cannata are among the league leaders in save percentage as well, with Olkinuora coming in fourth (.935), and Cannata in seventh (.927).
