PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Norfolk Admirals (6-2-0-1) received goals from four different scorers as they upended the Providence Bruins (4-4-1-0), 4-2, on Friday night at Dunkin' Donuts Center. Norfolk's seven-game road trip (2-1-0-0) continues with game four tomorrow evening at 7:30 p.m. against the Syracuse Crunch.

Carter Ashton, Trevor Smith, Dana Tyrell and Jeff Dimmen each scored for the Admirals, who out-shot the Bruins, 41-22. Goaltender Dustin Tokarski improved to 3-2-0 on the season with a 20-save performance.

The Admirals took a 1-0 lead 4:30 into the game. Radko Gudas sent a shot from the left point that was stopped by goaltender Anton Khudobin. The rebound kicked out to Carter Ashton at the goalmouth for a tap-in past Khudobin's right leg. The goal was Ashton's team-leading eighth of the season.

Norfolk's lead doubled with less than 34 seconds remaining in the first period. Pierre-Cedric Labrie and Trevor Smith broke in on Khudobin on a two-on-one. Labrie sent a pass from the left circle beyond the reach of a Providence defender to Smith coming down the slot. Smith lifted a shot into the top corner of the net for his fourth goal of the season.

The Admirals went ahead, 3-0, just 2:49 into the second stanza. J.T. Wyman picked off a pass behind the Providence net and sent a quick centering feed into the slot. Dana Tyrell one-timed the puck over the left leg of Khudobin for his second goal of the season.

Providence got on the board 17:21 into the second period. Craig Cunningham netted his first professional goal on a shot from the left circle to cut Norfolk's lead to 3-1.

The Bruins closed to within one goal of the Admirals 4:05 into the final frame. Stefan Chaput scored a shorthanded goal to cut Norfolk's lead to 3-2.

However, the Admirals sealed the victory with a power play goal 7:01 into the third period. Alexandre Picard sent a pass to Jeff Dimmen in the left circle, and Dimmen scored his first professional goal to put the Admirals ahead, 4-2.

Dustin Tokarski (3-2-0) turned aside 20 of 22 shots for the win. Anton Khudobin (3-5-0) stopped 37 of 41 shots for the loss.

Norfolk was 1-4 on the power play. Providence did not have a power play.
