Griffins Return Home Tonight to Face Heat
October 28, 2011 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Grand Rapids Griffins News Release
Grand Rapids Griffins (3-4-0-0) vs. Abbotsford Heat (4-3-0-0)
TONIGHT 7 p.m. Van Andel Arena
Griffins head coach Curt Fraser will attempt to become the winningest coach in franchise history tonight, as he and Danton Cole are currently tied with 116 victories all time.
The Griffins have been strangers in their own house. Tonight marks the latest date ever for their second home game of a season, and this is first season ever in which they played six of their first seven games on the road.
Fans are invited to wear their best Halloween costumes to the game for a costume party and contest. The top 10 costumes will be chosen to take part in the second intermission contest, with the winner being chosen by applause.
The first 2,500 fans will receive a Griffins Clingz schedule, and the popular Dollar Beers, Dollar Dogs promotion will run from 6-8 p.m., while supplies last.
Tonight's another Free Ride Friday on The Rapid. Ride the Rapid to and from the game and enjoy a complimentary fare by showing your ticket. Visit ridetherapid.org for schedule information, routes and maps.
TICKETS: Tickets for tonight's game can be purchased in person at The Zone at Van Andel Arena and all Star Tickets outlets, including Meijer stores, by phone at 222-4000 / 800-585-3737, or online at griffinshockey.com.
