Texas Stars News Release
AUSTIN, TX. - T-Mobile USA, Inc. has announced that they have partnered with Cedar Park Center, home of the Texas Stars and the Austin Toros, to sponsor Cedar Park Center and the 2011-2012 Texas Stars season.
"T-Mobile is excited to bring this partnership to our Cedar Park Center and Texas Stars fans in the Central Texas area," said Jon Freier, vice president and general manager, North Texas, T-Mobile USA. "As a premier entertainment venue for Central Texas, we're looking forward to working with Cedar Park Center to provide a great experience for our T-Mobile customers."
Cedar Park Center is a state-of-the-art arena located 20 minutes from downtown Austin in Cedar Park, Texas. As the home of the Texas Stars and the Austin Toros, as well as concerts and family shows including George Strait, Miranda Lambert, Rascal Flatts, Tool, Cirque du Soleil. Disney on Ice and Monster Jam, Cedar Park Center has hosted more than 230 events, attracting over 1,000,000 attendees since opening in 2009.
"Cedar Park Center is excited to exclusively partner with T-Mobile in a joint effort to build awareness amongst our fan base about the company's leading wireless cellular products and services," said Danielle Eldridge, Assistant Vice President of Corporate Sales for Cedar Park Center. We are thrilled about adopting T-Mobile's service at Cedar Park Center because of the efficiencies we gain through having access to the company's wide-reaching 4G network. Cedar Park Center is looking forward to providing our fans with similar access to T-Mobile's superior wireless products and services."
T-Mobile announced in May of this year that they have doubled the theoretical peak download speed of its 4G network to 42 Mbps in the Austin area, providing customers with increased capacity, reliability and even more consistent, faster speeds. T-Mobile's increased theoretical download speed has also gone live in 51 additional markets across the United States.
Since the launch of its 4G service in Austin last June, T-Mobile has continued to make significant investments in its network infrastructure in the area, bringing 148 cell sites online with 4G service, and investing more than $29M in continuous network upgrades and improvements in the Austin area since January, 2010.
"Austin has always been, and will continue to be, a very important area for T-Mobile," said Freier. "With Austin's growing position as a national hub for technology, pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, T-Mobile has continued to expand its 4G network across the region, including our HSPA+42 network technology, providing our customers with increased capacity, reliability and even more consistent, faster speeds."
