New Jersey Swaps Defensemen with Albany

ALBANY, N.Y. - Defenseman Olivier Magnan has been called up from Albany to the New Jersey Devils, while defenseman Alexander Urbom has been assigned to Albany. The announcement was made by Albany Devils General Manager Chris Lamoriello.

Magnan, who has served as an assistant captain for Albany, has played three games at the AHL level this season, posting an assist and a plus-two rating. A fifth-round draft pick by the Devils in 2006, Magnan has played 249 games for the Devils' top developmental team, totaling 48 points.

Urbom arrives in Albany after appearing in six NHL games this year. He was a third-round draft pick by the Devils in 2009 and registered 33 points (12g-21a) in 66 games for Brandon of the Western Hockey League last season.
