
Monarchs Sign McBain

MANCHESTER, NH - The Manchester Monarchs, primary affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings, have signed defenseman Jamie McBain to a professional tryout agreement. He will be available for tonight's game against Hershey, wearing number 44.
Monarchs Director of Hockey Operations Hubie McDonough made the announcement.
McBain, 26, appeared in 69 games with the Buffalo Sabres last season. He totaled six goals and 11 assists with 14 penalty minutes. McBain also spent parts of four seasons with the Carolina Hurricanes from 2009-13. He has 275 career games in the NHL between Buffalo and Carolina and 78 games in the AHL, all with Albany. A University of Wisconsin product, he had a career-high 30 points with Carolina in 2010-11 (7 goals, 23 assists). The Hurricanes selected the native of Edina, MN in the second round (63rd overall) of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.
The Monarchs begin a three-game weekend at home tonight with a 7 p.m. game against Hershey. They will host St. Johns on Saturday at 7 p.m. before closing out the weekend with a 3 p.m. game against the Bears on Sunday.
