LAST WEEK'S HIGHLIGHTS

Toronto (11/15): Left wing Dany Roussin collected two goals in his first game since returning from the ECHL's Reading Royals as the Manchester Monarchs skated past former Head Coach Jim Hughes' Toronto Marlies, 4-2, at the Verizon Wireless Arena on Wednesday night. Right wing Mike Hoffman and defenseman Shay Stephenson also tallied their first goals of the season for the Monarchs. Stephenson's goal was the first shorthanded goal for Manchester in 2006-07. Center Eric Westrum and defenseman Marc Moro scored for the Marlies. Monarchs netminder Jason LaBarbera collected his fifth win of the season stopping 37 of 39 shots. Marlies goaltender Jean-Francois Racine took his fourth loss in a row with 33 saves. Manchester went 1-for-6 on the power play. Toronto was 0-for-6 with the man advantage.

Lowell (11/17): The Lowell Devils scored four unanswered goals to singe the Manchester Monarchs in a 4-3 overtime loss at the Verizon Wireless Arena on Friday night. Left wing Noah Clarke, right wing Mike Hoffman and defenseman Bryan Schmidt tallied in the first period for the Monarchs but Lowell answered back with goals from right wing Grant Marshall, left wing Dan LaCouture, right wing Nicklas Bergfors and defenseman Dan McGillis. Monarchs goaltender Barry Brust took the loss stopping 31 of 35 shots. Devils netminder Jordan Parise earned the win with 16 saves through 44 minutes of play. Goaltender Frank Doyle stopped 10 shots in the first period for the Devils before being replaced by Parise. Manchester went 1-for-4 on the power play. Lowell was 3-for-7 with the man advantage.

Toronto (11/18): Center Patrick O'Sullivan collected his first career natural hat trick and goaltender Jason LaBarbera stopped all 46 shots he faced in the Manchester Monarchs 5-0 shutout of the Toronto Marlies at the Verizon Wireless Arena on Saturday afternoon. Clarke added a pair of tallies to O'Sullivan three goals to bring the total to five. Marlies goaltender Justin Pogge was replaced by Jean-Francois Racine after the first two periods. Pogge stopped 18 of 22 shots. Racine made six saves on seven shots. Manchester went 1-for-6 on the power play. Toronto was 0-for-6 with the man advantage.

Portland (11/19): Defenseman Aaron Rome collected two points in the Portland Pirates 2-1 win over the Manchester Monarchs at the Cumberland County Civic Center on Sunday evening. Left wing Noah Clarke scored the lone power play goal for the Monarchs in the second period. Rome and right wing Garrett Bembridge scored for Portland. Monarchs goaltender Jason LaBarbera took the loss with 33 saves. Pirates netminder Mike Wall earned the win stopping 22 of 23 shots. Manchester went 1-for-9 on the power play. Portland was 1-for-6 with the man advantage.

MONARCHS NEWS & NOTES

The Monarchs (7-6-3-1) are in fourth place in the Atlantic Division with 18 points.

Manchester has a home record of 4-4-3-0 and a road record of 3-2-0-1.

The Monarchs power play is ranked second in the AHL after 17 games with a 23.6-percent man-advantage scoring percentage. Manchester has scored 25 goals on 106 opportunities so far this season with the man advantage.

Manchester's penalty kill is ranked 25th in the league after letting in 22 goals on 100 situations when the team has been down a man for a 78.0-percentage.

Left wing Noah Clarke leads the Monarchs in scoring with 14 points (9-5=14).

Clarke's nine goals also lead the team.

Since returning from Los Angeles on Friday, November 17, Clarke has tallied four goals and one assist in three games.

Clarke is one goal away from tying center Michael Cammalleri (71) on the all-time goals category for the Monarchs. The 5-foot-9, 192-pound native of LaVerne, California, has 70 goals in 156 Monarchs games from 2002-2006.

Clarke's power play goal on Sunday versus the Portland Pirates put him in first place in Monarchs all-time power play goals with 23.

The Monarchs have three of the leagues top 10 defensemen with Peter Harrold (2-11=13) - tied for third, T.J. Kemp (2-11=13) - also tied for third and Eric Werner (0-11=11) - tied for ninth.

Harrold and Kemp are tied for second in scoring for the Monarchs with 13 points apiece.

Harrold's 12 points are ranked second in the league among defensemen and tied for eighth among rookies.

Werner is in fifth place in team scoring for the Monarchs with 11 points (0-11=11).

Werner is tied for the Monarchs lead in assists. He shares the lead with Harrold and Kemp with 11 assists each.

Kemp is currently on a four-game point streak tallying one goal and five assists since November 8.

In 88 AHL games with the Monarchs and Houston Aeros, center Patrick O'Sullivan has 52 goals and 53 assists for 105 points.

O'Sullivan collected seven points (3-4=7) in four games this week and is ranked fourth in Monarchs scoring.

Left wing Dany Roussin collected his first two goals of the season in the Monarchs 4-2 win over the Toronto Marlies on Wednesday night.

Defenseman Shay Stephenson scored his first AHL goal, shorthanded, on Wednesday versus the Marlies.

Goaltender Jason LaBarbera ranks second in the league among minutes played with 794 minutes in 13 games.

LaBarbera is also in second place in the AHL in the saves category with 447 on the season and tied for first in shootout wins with two.

LaBarbera recorded his first shutout of the season stopping 46 shots on Saturday night against the Marlies. LaBarbera collected his 7,000th save as a professional in Wednesday night's 4-2 win over the Marlies. He currently has 7,090 with the New York Rangers (NHL), Kings (NHL), Monarchs (AHL), Hartford Wolf Pack (AHL) and Charlotte Checkers (ECHL).

LaBarbera has played in 198 AHL games with the Monarchs and Wolf Pack. He has a record of 98-61-20, a goals-against-average of 2.16 and a save-percentage of .926 in 10,975 minutes of work between the pipes and 4,908 saves in the AHL.

Right wing Lauri Tukonen is tied for eighth in the league with five power play goals.

TRANSACTIONS

11-20-06 - The Manchester Monarchs (AHL) assigned right wing James Hiebert, center Greg Hogeboom and left wing Ned Lukacevic to the Reading Royals (ECHL).

11-18-06 - The Los Angeles Kings (NHL) assigned right wing Tim Jackman to the Manchester Monarchs (AHL).

11-17-06 - The Los Angeles Kings (NHL) assigned left wing Noah Clarke to the Manchester Monarchs (AHL).

INJURIES

Center Matt Ryan is week-to-week with an upper body injury.

Right wing Lauri Tukonen is week-to-week with a lower body injury.
