Senators release Cava

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - The Binghamton Senators of the American Hockey League today announced that they have released defenseman Chris Cava from his 25-game professional tryout agreement.

Cava, a native of Thunder Bay, Ontario, collected four penalty minutes and a -2 rating in two games for the Senators.

Cava posted 25 points (7+18=25) in 51 games during the 2005-06 season, as he split time between Columbia and San Diego of the ECHL.

The Senators host the defending Calder Cup champion Hershey Bears on Thanksgiving at 6:05 p.m.

Good seats are still available for the Thanksgiving Day contest against Hershey.
