
Right wing Croxton Returned to ECHL Alaska

Peoria, IL (November 20, 2006) - Peoria Rivermen General Manager of Hockey Operations Kevin McDonald announced today that right wing Kevin Croxton has been returned on loan to the team's ECHL affiliate, the Alaska Aces - 2006 ECHL Kelly Cup Champions.
Croxton, 24, played in one road game for the Rivermen on November 17 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The 6-foot-3, 200-pound native of Calgary, Alberta, leads the Aces in goal scoring (6), is tied for third on the team in power-play goals (2) and is eighth in points (8). He participated with the Blues at the annual NHL Prospects Tournament in September in Traverse City, Michigan. The tournament featured eight NHL teams: Detroit (host), St. Louis, Tampa Bay, Columbus, Dallas, Atlanta, Minnesota and the New York Rangers.
Croxton completed a four-year, NCAA Division I career with Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (ECAC) with 143 points (57g, 86a) in a school-record 147 games last spring. Upon the conclusion of his senior season, the 6-foot-3, 200-pound native of Calgary, Alberta, enjoyed a 10-game AHL stint with the Springfield Falcons, notching four points (2g, 2a). As a senior, he captained RPI, leading the team in points (39) and assists (25) over 31 contests.
The Rivermen host the Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights on Friday, October 24 at 7:30 p.m. at Carver Arena. It's Salvation Army Coats for Kids Night. Fans are encouraged to bring a new or gently-used coat to donate and will receive a free voucher to an upcoming Rivermen game. The 25 Greatest Rivermen of All-Time, presented U.S. Cellular, Card Set giveaway continues with Tony Curtale; the first 2,500 fans receive a card. Peoria travels to Omaha the following night to complete the back end of a home-and-home set between the clubs. Game time is 7:00 p.m. at the Omaha Civic Auditorium.
