MANCHESTER, New Hampshire - The Manchester Monarchs have released left wing Lonnie Loach and defenseman Doug Schueller from their professional tryout agreements (PTO), Monarchs Director of Hockey Operations Hubie McDonough announced today.
Loach, 34, recorded one assist in three games with the Monarchs. The 5-foot-10, 185-pound native of New Liskeard, Ontario, returns to the Missouri River Otters of the United Hockey League where he has 65 points (27-38=65) and 46 penalty minutes in 56 games.
Schueller, 25, recorded no points and no penalty minutes in three games with the Monarchs. The 6-foot-1, 200-pound native of Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota, returns to the Roanoke Express of the East Coast Hockey League where he has eight points (2-6=8) and 50 penalty minutes in 54 games.
Defenseman Chris Aldous, out the last nine games with a rib injury, and right wing Pavel Rosa, out the last 17 games with a knee injury, may return to active duty as soon as tomorrow when the Monarchs face the St. John's Maple Leafs. The Monarchs coaching staff will make game time decisions on both players. Aldous, a 27-year-old from Massena, New York, has played 45 games for the Monarchs this season recording 11 points (3-8=11) and 12 penalty minutes. Rosa, a 25-year-old from Most Czech Republic, has played 46 games for the Monarchs this season recording 39 points (18-21=39) and 12 penalty minutes. Rosa has also appeared in one game for the Los Angeles Kings this season recording no points and no penalty minutes.
Injuries to center Greg Koehler (abdominal strain), center Jared Aulin (knee), and right wing Dane Jackson (wrist) will keep all three out of the Monarchs lineup this week.
