Saint John Ends Bulldogs Winning Streak

The Hamilton Bulldogs had their five game winning streak at home snapped as they dropped a 6-3 decision to the Saint John Flames in front of 4,016 fans at Copps Coliseum on Monday night.

Despite the loss Hamilton remains first overall in the AHL with 104 points on the season. The Bulldogs record currently stands at 47 wins, 12 losses, 6 ties and 4 overtime losses.

Scoring the Bulldogs three goals were Jarret Stoll, Tomas Plekanec and Marc-Andre Bergeron. Earning assists were Stoll, Bergeron, Mike Bishai (2), Michael Ryder and Mariusz Czerkawski.

Robert Dome led the way for the Flames as he scored three goals on the night. Matt Lombardi had two goals, while Chuck Kobasew earned a single marker.

In goal Bulldogs goaltender Eric Fichaud made 28 saves on 32 shots in 28:32 of play. Fichaud was replaced by Conklin who stopped 12 shots. Dany Sabourin earned the win in net for Saint John.

On special teams the Bulldogs were 2 for 7 with the man-advantage, while the Flames were 2 for 8.

This weekend the Bulldogs will travel to St. John's Newfoundland to take on the Maple Leafs in a pair of games. Bulldogs fans can listen to Derek Wills call all the action on Friday, March 14th and Saturday, March 15th.
