
Bulldogs Set Home Record for Wins and Points

The Hamilton Bulldogs set new franchise records for home wins season (24) and points on home ice (54) as they defeated the Rochester Americans 3-0 at Copps Coliseum on Saturday night. The Bulldogs have clinched the Canadian Division regular season title and are guaranteed a top three playoff seed in the Eastern Conference. Hamilton currently leads the AHL with a record of 47 wins, 11 losses, 6 ties and 4 overtime losses, which gives the Bulldogs 104 points.
This week will see the Bulldogs play three games against Canadian Division rivals. Hamilton will host the Saint John Flames at Copps Coliseum for a special March Break game TONIGHT - Monday, March 10th at 7:00 p.m. Following Monday's game the Bulldogs will travel to St. John's, Newfoundland to take on the St. John's Maple Leafs in a pair of weekend games. The Bulldogs will play the Maple Leafs at Mile One Stadium in St. John's on Friday, March 14th and Saturday, March 15th; with each game beginning at 6:05 p.m.

The Hamilton Bulldogs are currently the top of! fensive and defensive team in the AHL. Hamilton has scored a league high 3.69 goals per game, while surrendering a league low 2.19 goals per game.
JASON WARD LEADING THE AHL SCORING RACE:
Entering tonight's game, Bulldogs forward Jason Ward has 72 points (31g-41a-72pts) and leads the AHL in scoring. Just behind Ward are Grand Rapids Griffins forwards Mark Mowers (28g-42a-70pts) and Michel Picard (25g-45a-70pts).
HAMILTON CONTINUES WINNING WAYS ON HOME ICE:
The Bulldogs are currently on a five-game home winning streak (Feb. 16/03 â Mar. 8/03), which ties a team season high.

Bulldogs forward Tony Salmelainen has scored 26 points (12g-14a-26pts) this season, with 17 points (8g-9a-17pts) having been earned on the road.
