Monarchs, Marines Collect Toys for Tots

December 9, 2008 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Manchester Monarchs News Release

MANCHESTER, NH - The Monarchs Care Foundation, the charitable arm of the Manchester Monarchs, is teaming up with U.S. Marines to collect Toys for Tots on Saturday, December 13 when the team hosts the Providence Bruins at 7:00 p.m. at the Verizon Wireless Arena.

The Monarchs are asking fans to bring a new, unwrapped toy to the game and donate it for needy children in New Hampshire. Toys for Tots is a 61-year tradition of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves and provides happiness and hope to disadvantaged children who might otherwise be overlooked this holiday season. In 2007, Toys for Tots delivered more than 16.7 million toys to over 7.5 million children. Monarchs' fans have contributed a generous amount of toys since the team's inception in 2001 and have put many smiles on the faces of children in need.
