Pelletier Recalled to Chicago

Rockford, Ill.- Chicago Blackhawks General Manager Dale Tallon announced on Tuesday that the National Hockey League club has recalled winger Pascal Pelletier from the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League. Tallon also announced that Chicago has acquired defenseman Jimmy Sharrow from the Vancouver Canucks in exchange for a conditional draft pick and assigned him to Rockford.

The recall is the first of the season for Pelletier and second of his professional career to the NHL. The 25-year old Labrador City, Newfoundland native is currently leading Rockford with 13 goals in 23 games. Overall, Pelletier has 21 points for Rockford, second most on the team.

Pelletier was acquired from the Boston Bruins on July 24, 2008 for Martin St. Pierre. Last season, Pelletier led the Providence Bruins with 75 points in 73 games. Pelletier earned his first career NHL recall to Boston and made his NHL debut with the Bruins last season. Pelletier is the fifth IceHogs player to get recalled to Chicago this season.
