Chris Holt Returns to Peoria

Peoria, Ill. (December 9, 2008) - Peoria Rivermen General Manager Kevin McDonald announced today that the St. Louis Blues have reassigned goaltender Chris Holt to Peoria from the Rivermen's ECHL affiliate, the Alaska Aces. They have also reassigned goalie Marek Schwarz from Peoria to Alaska.

Holt, 23, has played in two games with the Peoria Rivermen this season, posting a 2-0-0 record, a .915 save percentage and a 2.00 goals-against average. He spent Nov. 2-5 in the NHL with the Blues but did not appear in a game.

With the Aces, Holt was 3-2-0 in his five games with a 1.80 goals-against average and a .946 save percentage.

Holt has spent the last three seasons in the New York Rangers system. The 6-3, 221-pound netminder saw one game of NHL action in 2005-06 with the Rangers. Last season, Holt split time between the ECHL's Charlotte Checkers where he posted a 15-13-2 record, 2.72 goals-against average and .915 save percentage, and the Hartford Wolf Pack (5-3-0, 2.42 GAA, .906 save percentage).

The South Surrey, British Columbia native was originally drafted by the New York Rangers in the sixth round, 180th overall in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.
