This Week's Houston Aeros Games

December 9, 2008 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Houston Aeros News Release

The Houston Aeros begin the week with a 11-10-1-2 record sitting at sixth in the West Division. The 25 points for the season puts Houston only two points behind fifth place Milwaukee and a mere five points behind second-place Chicago. Jason Deitsch re-signed with the Aeros last week and is currently on a two-game point streak. Also with streaks are Corey Locke with five points in two games and Krys Kolanos, who returns with his seven points in four games.

The Aeros host the Rochester Americans Wednesday in their only visit to Toyota Center this season at 7:05 p.m. Houston will try to exact revenge after losing the first pairing of the season in Rochester on November 8. The Aeros lead the all-time series 8-4-3-0 against the North Division foe. Rochester is currently last in their division with a record of 4-18-0-2.

The West Division rival Quad City Flames will make their first appearance against the Aeros when they come to visit Thursday at 7:05 p.m. at Toyota Center. Last season, their first in Quad City, Houston posted a 3-4-0-1 record against the club and look to snap the current three-game losing skid against the team. Houston's last win was a 3-2 shootout victory on February 2 in Moline.

Despite being in the same league since 2001-02, Saturday at 7:35 p.m. will be the first regular-season meeting between the Aeros and Hershey Bears. The Bears lead the East Division with a record of 20-5-0-1 and are currently riding an 11-game win streak. Saturday is the Houston Aeros Charities "Teddy Toss," so don't forget your bears for this great cause!
