Monarchs "At Your Service" Dinner Scheduled For March
February 3, 2009 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Manchester Monarchs News Release
MANCHESTER, NH - The Manchester Monarchs, the primary affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings, will host their eighth annual "At Your Service" dinner on Tuesday, March 10 at the Event Center at C.R. Sparks in Bedford, New Hampshire. The evening will begin with attendees mingling with the team and bidding on silent auction items followed by dinner served by the players and dancing.
Tickets for this year's fun-filled, entertaining evening are limited and going fast. Please contact Cheryl Abbott, Monarchs Senior Vice President at (603) 626-7825, extension 6102 for more information on the event or to purchase your tickets online, visit www.manchestermonarchs.com.
The Monarchs "At Your Service" dinner turns a normally rugged hockey team into an accomplished wait staff eager to fulfill special requests, such as singing a song, telling a joke, doing impersonations, making surprise phone calls, posing for photos, dancing and much more, all for charitable tips. The event features a private reception, dinner and a silent auction with items such as pottery, gift baskets and Build-A-Bears created by the players. The players will be wearing specialty jerseys during the event that will be auctioned off to the highest bidder that night. For a sneak peek at the jerseys, the team will be wearing them for the Monarchs game against the Springfield Falcons on Wednesday, February 11. The evening has raised over $400,000 for local charities over the past seven years.
Child Health Services, Boys & Girls Club of Manchester and the Monarchs Care Foundation, the charitable arm of the Monarchs, will benefit from this year's event.
Child Health Services is dedicated to providing comprehensive medical care, social support and nutrition consultation to more than 2,000 infants, children and adolescents from low-income families in the Greater Manchester area.
The Boys & Girls Club of Manchester reaches out to over 3,600 youth from first grade through high school graduation, with special concern given to those in at-risk situations, providing programs and services that inspire and enable kids to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring individuals.
The Monarchs Care Foundation is dedicated to supporting organizations in our community that promote the health and wellness of families and to those who provide educational and recreational opportunities to young people.
This year's "At Your Service" dinner begins at 5:30 p.m. with cocktails and appetizers during the silent auction. The players will serve dinner immediately after the conclusion of the auction, followed by dancing.
