Columbus Assigns Alexandre Picard to Crunch

Syracuse, NY (February 3, 2009) - The Syracuse Crunch announced today that the Columbus Blue Jackets have assigned left wing Alexandre Picard to the Crunch.

Picard, 23, has appeared in 16 games with the Crunch this season, recording two goals, five assists and 35 penalty minutes. He has also skated in 15 games with Columbus this year, registering one assist and 26 penalty minutes.

A native of Les Saules, Quebec, Picard was drafted by Columbus in the first round, eighth overall, in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.

The Crunch's next game is Wednesday, February 4 as they travel to Hamilton to take on the Bulldogs. The Crunch return home on Friday, February 13 to battle Grand Rapids at the War Memorial at Oncenter at 7:30 p.m. Tickets can be purchased by calling the Crunch office at 315-473-4444, stopping by the Oncenter Box Office, located on the State Street side of the War Memorial or by calling Ticketmaster at 315-472-0700.
