Men O\' War End 'Ohio Week' 2-2-0

Lexington, KY-The Men O' War took on the Toledo Storm three times this week to end their season series with the Storm. The Men went 1-2-0 against the Storm this week to finish the season series at 4-5-0. On Sunday, the Men traveled to Dayton to face the Bombers. The Men exploded for six goals, including two shorthanded goals, to down the Bombers 6-4. This week the Men take on the Bombers in a Tuesday night return match. On Friday, the MOW face off with the high-scoring Reading Royals for the second time this year.

The MOW wrap up the week with a trip to Wheeling on Saturday night.

Wednesday, February 12th –Lexington 2 at Toledo 4

The Men started the week in one of the ECHL's toughest arenas. A MOW line-up that was depleted due to injury ran out of gas in the third period and allowed three Toledo goals in the final period. Fraser Clair scored for the MOW less than a minute into the game, and Ben Storey scored with one second left in the third to provide the MOW with their only goals of the game.

Friday, February 14th-Toledo 2 at Lexington 5

The Men O' War avenged Wednesday's loss with a five-goal outburst on Valentine's Day. Marc-Andre Thinel recorded the third hat trick in MOW history. Fraser Clair, playing on a line with Thinel, scored the other two goals. In total the line of Thinel, Clair and Brett Draney had five goals and six assists for 11 points on the game.

Saturday, February 15th –Lexington 1 at Toledo 4

The Men O' War laid a third period egg for the second straight game in Toledo. Heading into the third, the Men trailed 2-1. In the third, Toledo scored twice more to ice the game. Toledo's Matt Ellis earned first star honors with two goals. Alex Mathieu scored the lone Lexington goal in his first game back from injury.

Sunday, February 16th –Lexington 6 at Dayton 4

The MOW beat the Bombers and a snowstorm on Sunday in Dayton. Lexington tied a season high with six goals as they beat the Bombers for the seventh time this season. Fraser Clair scored twice including a shorthanded goal. Joe Vandermeer also scored with the MOW a man down. Jay Banach, Alex Mathieu and Marc-Andre Thinel scored the other Lexington goals.

UPCOMING GAMES ......

The Men have a rematch with the Bombers on Tuesday night. The game marks the MOW's only mid-week home game of the season. The MOW are 7-2-0 this year vs. the Bombers. On Friday, the Reading Royals make their second appearance of the year at Rupp Arena. The Royals downed the MOW 3-2 at Rupp in a shootout on December 20th. Van Burgess recorded a goal and an assist in the game, and Jay Banach scored his first goal of the season. On Saturday night, the Men travel to Wheeling to take on the Nailers. The Men are 2-2-0 this year vs. the Nailers. In an odd scheduling quirk, the Men played the Nailers four times in December and haven't seen them since. The Nailers won the last meeting 5-1 on New Year's Eve in Wheeling.

MOW Tracks

Fraser Clair has scored seven of his twelve goals on the season in the last seven games...Alex Mathieu has returned from an injury on a hot streak. In two games since coming back, Mathieu has four points (2g, 2a)...Marc-Andre Thinel has seven points (4g, 3a) in four games since returning from Utah.
