McNeill Recalled to Hershey

North Charleston, SC - The South Carolina Stingrays and Head Coach Jared Bednar announced today that defenseman Patrick McNeill has been recalled to the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League.

McNeill, 20, amassed 16 points (5g, 11a), 16 penalty minutes, and a +5 plus-minus rating in 19 contests this season with the Stingrays. The first-year pro began the season with South Carolina, collecting 10 points (3g, 7a) in nine games before he was recalled to Hershey on Nov. 6. In 25 contests for the Bears, McNeill registered nine points (1g, 8a) and eight penalty minutes.

Prior to turning pro, the Strathroy, Ontario native spent four seasons in the OHL with the Saginaw Spirit, totaling 182 points (53g, 129a) in 249 junior contests. The Capitals' 4th round selection (118th overall) in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft led all OHL defensemen with 77 points during the 2005-06 campaign, earning 2nd Team All-Star honors.
