Charlotte Checkers News Release

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Duke Energy and the Charlotte Checkers will team up to present Share the Warmth on Saturday, Feb. 23 as the team battles the Florida Everblades.

This will mark the second annual game that Duke Energy has partnered with the Charlotte Checkers. The Share the Warmth program is designed to lend a helping hand to people who need assistance paying their winter energy bills. The first 2,000 adults in attendance will receive a free long-sleeve t-shirt courtesy of Duke Energy.

Tickets for the game can be purchased online by visiting www.ticketmaster.com/duke and clicking on the "find tickets" link. Next to "DUKE ENERGY-SHARE THE WARMTH NIGHT," select the desired number of tickets and enter the password "DUKE". If you're buying tickets at the game, be sure to mention the Duke Energy promotion at the box office to get the discount. Up to 50% of the reduced ticket prices will go to the Share the Warmth program.

"We are excited by the opportunity to work with the Checkers again in support of Duke Energy's Share the Warmth program. We hope Checkers fans will take advantage of the discounted tickets. And in doing so, help people in need pay their heating bills this winter," said John Langston, Share The Warmth program manager.

The Checkers began their 15th season of play as a member of the ECHL. The next home game takes place on Feb. 12 against the Wheeling Nailers. In the team's 14-year history, the Checkers have made the playoffs 10 times including three consecutive playoff appearances to date. The Checkers are in their third season of play at St. Lawrence Homes Home Ice at Charlotte Bobcats Arena. Season tickets are on sale now with full-season packages starting at just $175.
